Summary: Utility Component Tests (Final Plan)

Outcome

Successfully added comprehensive test coverage for utility components: GlobalImageHistory, GroupsOverlay, and ModelParameters. This completes Phase 17 (Component Tests) with all 34 target components now having test coverage.

Tasks Completed

Task 1: Add GlobalImageHistory component tests

• Created GlobalImageHistory.test.tsx with 30 tests covering:
  • Empty state rendering (returns null when no history)
  • Trigger button with count badge (singular/plural forms, 99+ overflow)
  • Fan open/close toggle functionality
  • Max 10 items in fan view with "+X more" overflow indicator
  • History sidebar display with all items
  • Clear All functionality calling clearGlobalHistory
  • Model display (Pro vs Standard labels)
  • Prompt display with truncation and empty state ("No prompt")
  • Drag and drop with proper data transfer format
  • Relative time formatting (Just now, Xm ago, Xh ago)
  • Image thumbnail rendering in fan and sidebar views
  • Keyboard navigation (Escape to close fan/sidebar)

Task 2: Add GroupsOverlay and ModelParameters tests

• Created GroupsOverlay.test.tsx with 24 tests covering:

  • Empty state rendering (no groups returns null)
  • Group background rendering in ViewportPortal
  • Position, size, and color application to backgrounds
  • Group controls header with name display
  • Name editing (click to edit, Enter to submit, Escape to cancel, blur to submit)
  • Lock/unlock toggle functionality
  • Color picker display and color selection
  • Delete group functionality
  • Multiple groups rendering with different colors

• Created ModelParameters.test.tsx with 30 tests covering:

  • Initial rendering (Gemini provider bypass, empty modelId)
  • Loading state while fetching schema
  • Schema fetching with encoded model IDs
  • Error handling (fetch failure, network error)
  • Empty schema handling (component hides when no parameters)
  • Collapse/expand toggle functionality
  • Parameter count display in header
  • String input rendering with placeholder defaults
  • Number input with min/max range display
  • Number validation errors (below min, above max)
  • Integer validation (decimal value error)
  • Boolean checkbox with schema defaults
  • Enum/select rendering with Default option + enum values
  • Parameter name formatting (snake_case to Title Case)
  • API key headers in fetch requests (Replicate, fal)
  • onInputsLoaded callback for dynamic inputs
  • Multiple parameter types rendering together

Deviations

None - all planned tests were implemented successfully.

Notes

• Used createPortal mock for GlobalImageHistory sidebar rendering
• Used vi.stubGlobal("fetch") pattern for ModelParameters schema fetching
• GroupsOverlay tests mock ViewportPortal and useReactFlow from @xyflow/react
• Some tests show React act() warnings in stderr - these are informational warnings about async state updates but all tests pass

Phase 17 (Component Tests) is now complete. The codebase has comprehensive component test coverage with 997 total tests passing. Ready to proceed to Phase 18 (API Route Tests) for server-side endpoint testing.
